Block building

Build blocks (a centre and its neighbouring edge, for instance) and combine them. This is the same idea as F2L on a cube and the main route to efficient solves.

Algorithms for the end

Learn short commutators for cycling three pieces. They are the safest way to finish: they affect only the pieces you want to move.
