Sarah's Intermediate Variation: three steps. Consistent sub-30 solves.
The structure of these guides follows Sarah's Skewb method (sarah.cubing.net/skewb/my-method, read October 2026). The sledgehammer and hedgeslammer claims were checked in a simulator (cubing.js). The other sequences are written as that page gives them and are only checked to be legal Skewb moves.
Fewer steps
The intermediate variation merges the second and third beginner steps. You still solve the first side the same way, then you solve the whole opposite side in one step, then finish the centres.
Solve the opposite side in one go
Sarah's page lists ten cases for this step, grouped into three categories. The second and third categories are reduced to the first, so you do not have to treat all ten as unrelated. Practise recognising the case from the corners before you start turning.
Finish the centres
The last step is the same as in the beginner method. Because you now need fewer steps, most of your time comes from recognising the case quickly. Spend practice time on the case pictures, not only on the moves.
