How to use AnyCube

Eight short steps. You do not need to read them in order.

  1. Time a solve

On the Timer, read the scramble and turn your cube to match it. Hold the space bar (or touch and hold the timer) until it turns ready, then let go to start. Press again to stop. Use the Puzzle list above the timer to switch to another event. Your times are saved on this device only.

  2. Fix a time

After a solve, press 1 for OK, 2 for +2 and 3 for DNF. On a touch screen, swipe on the timer: left for +2, right for DNF, up for OK. “Delete last” removes the previous solve. You can also add a time by hand.

  3. Learn how to solve

Open Learn, choose your event and start at the level that fits you. Each guide has steps with moving examples. Your progress is saved on this device.

  4. Look up algorithms

Algorithms is the reference library: every algorithm shown on a cube you can step through. Some cases list other algorithms underneath. You can choose one that feels better for your hands.

  5. Memorise them

Each event on the Algorithms page has a Train button (also under More, then Train). It quizzes you on that event’s algorithms. Pick the event, see a case, try to recall the algorithm, reveal it, then say whether you knew it. Cases you miss come back more often. On the 3x3 you rate each case as missed, hesitated or knew it.

  6. Set it up your way

Open Settings to switch between light, dark or automatic colours, turn on inspection or focus mode, add splits, or hide all numbers if timing stresses you out.

  7. Choose gear

Gear lists cubes, timers, mats and lubes. Pick your event to see only what fits it. Prices are not shown because they go out of date.

  8. Keep your data safe

Everything is stored in this browser. Use Backup on the timer page to save your solves to a file, and Restore to load them on another device. Clearing your browser data erases your history, so back up first.
